Turns out I like it! I bought this at Britex in San Francisco last summer and have used it regularly since to notch patterns. However, my favorite use for it is to clip curves in seam allowances where I once used scissors to cut little ‘v’s. It’s much faster. If I could change it – I’d have it cut through more than two layers of fabric and be a little sharper – to separate the punched fabric completely. Even so – I paid $25 for it and think it well worth the price. It’s well-made, sturdy and works well left or right handed.

Perfect! Contrary to popular belief as reflected in some previous reviews, this pattern notcher is designed to cut notches in oak tag (the heavy manila paper used for commercial patterns), not in fabric! For its intended application, it works perfectly. It’s heavy duty and built to last. Punches nice, clean markings on the edge of cardstock-weight paper. Not hard on the hands.

Much needed I’ve needed a pattern notched for a long time, and I was surprised to find one here. Works beautifully, and arrived very quickly. I’m very happy with this purchase.
