MY First Sewing Machine Boook: Learn to Sew Kids My granddaughter just turned ten. I bought her this book for her birthday. She had never sewn on a machine before. She read the book before coming to my house to learn to use the sewing machine. She knew all the parts of the machine and did a great job at her first lesson. We used the pattern for the Ipod holder for our first project. I highly recommend this book.

Excellent book! This is a great book for beginners. It is very informative and easy to read. My daughter is ten years old and just received her first sewing machine. This book explained all the basics of the machine and was filled with sewing steps in language that she could relate to. She practiced for two days with the paper exercises in this book. We simply made copies and she set there for hours learning how to control her foot pedal, raise and lower her presser foot and pivot properly. I would highly recommend it for any beginner.
