I’ve sewed lots already and I’m just a beginner! This is my first serger and I am very new to sergering. I wanted to sew upcycle clothing. I sought out the advice of a sewing class but after hearing the fee of “$100 for 3 hours”, I decided to tackle this on my own. After a couple of hours (I just needed to make sure to thread properly:), I made my first piece of upcycle clothing! Then I started making more! I love it! With this purchase, I am on my way to reinventing my entire wardrobe without buying new clothes! I chose this model because it was recommended by Katwise on Etsy and I have to say thank you Katwise and thank you Amazon!
Perfect right out of the box Purchased this serger after checking out reviews on the Web. Juki seemed to have a good reputation for reliability. It came threaded with the threads cut off & wrapped around the presser foot knob. A lot of people tie on another thread and do not thread the machine.I was determined to learn how to thread it and removed the cut off threads & threaded it with new thread. It was not as hard as I thought it would be but you will need tweeser’s and the supplied thread hook. I tested the machine and it sewed perfectly. The machine was quieter than I expected and seems to be well built. I was impressed with the fit and finish of the parts as well as the cast aluminum frame. When operating there is very little vibration.Looks like a keeper, time will tell.
