Not for tight-fitting clothes This dress form is very convenient. The multiple dials give you a lot of control in getting the right measurements, and the fabric-covered surface lets you pin materials to the form. However, there is one major drawback. You can’t use the form to create tight-fitting tops or dresses, because the chest shape is not true to life! In real life, breast width transitions gradually from top to bottom, but at the bottom it cuts sharply in where the breast ends and the rib cage begins (under the cup). On this dress form though, the breasts thin out gradually on the underside as well, making the ribcage in that area disproportionately wide. With the waist and breast measurements set exactly to my own, it is *impossible* to even put my bra on the form!It would be great for loose shirts and dresses, but keep in mind that the chest area is messed up.

closet fashion designer! I decided to order this dressform, so that I would no longer have to struggle with measurements and guesswork. Right now, I do not use patterns, and I envisioned draping fabric on the dress form, pinning and sizing everything up, like magic.Well, I am still trying to figure all of this out. This dress form is handy, though I am not as pleased with it as I hoped I would be. It is very easy to put together, though I would be happier if it was heavier, sturdier-not so easy to tip or rock. I like that it spins on the stand. I thought the dials would be easier to use-they seem to want to pop back, spring-action, when the dials are turned up/out too high. Alas, I do not find that this model “models” my proportions exactly-you cannot expand butt, without also expanding the hips. I think the upper portion of the dressform will be more useful for fitting. Guess I will have to work with it, it has some limitations, but it also has some advantages that I have yet to explore.

Very nice, easy to move, lightweight, holds clothes well! I don’t know why so many people are complaining. I got this item and find that it works for its purpose. Its lightweight and easy to move around. The setting make it easy to adjust to my measurements. I also use it with a black turtle neck over it, to take pics of my garments for ebay use. Its well worth the money and I’m not a novice at sewing, been doing it for 25 years. Its a good deal. I also add pads to the bust in order to adjust to my specific bust line. I read that a few women have complained about the bust. This is not a custom dress form ladies. Put your own bra on it, and then stuff it so it matches your chest size and look. Simple solutions!
